2002 Jiveathon Beneficiaries

SHE Trust

Their main project at the moment is the Regan Education room they are setting up. This will be used to train GP's, Nurses, Complementary therapists and nutritionists about endometriosis. They need to furnish it and purchase a new computer. It will also be used as a library and board room.

National Endometriosis Society

In 1981 a self-help group for women with endometriosis was set up. This grew rapidly and now the National Endometriosis Society offers a range of services to those affected by this disease. In addition to funding research into endometriosis, and rasing awareness of it among medical professionals and the public, the Society also provides the following:

  • a freephone national helpline available 365 days a year on 080 808 2227
  • branches around the UK
  • individual replies to medical questions
  • regular newsletters
  • conferences and workshops
  • a programme of self-management courses
  • a comprehensive range of publications including fact sheets on treatments
