Amanda (Charity Liason), Asif (Press Officer) and Ian (coordinator) visited Robert Music at the NES head office and handed over cheques for £2,275, an employer’s “matched giving” form for £187 and half of the sponsor forms so they could reclaim up to 28% from the Inland Revenue :-) Pictures will go in the gallery when Asif gets the film developed.

We’re starting to think about Jiveathon’03: “One lump or Two?” in aid of Prostate and Testicular Cancers. As always the first job is to find a venue - 2 or 3 halls for 12 hours, probably 1pm to 1am Saturday to Sunday in early October. The venue are welcome to make extra money by running a bar, but tap water must be freely available all day. If you have any ideas please contact the co-ordinator: ian@ianrogers.net

21st October
$4,508.02 and we haven’t finished counting yet. More news soon.

18th October
Only 2 days to go! It’s still possible to pay on the door £20/£10

Latest News is that Barbie Hutch has agreed to join Ken Starsky on stage!  The last time these two lead a Master class together was at Camber 2001 where they brought the house down to a 1,000plus crowd! We are very lucky to have them at such an exclusive venue.

Remember, there are showers available for changing and cooling off if you get too excited...

16th October
Some small changes have been made to the timetable, swapping some classes around to cater for the teacher’s commitments.

14th October
Annalisa, a renowned Ceroc DJ, and Roger Chin have joined the day. To date that’s a total of THIRTEEN classes and TWELVE DJs in one event in one day! I think we can claim that’s the biggest collection of the best teachers and DJs of any one-day Jive event in England! Please contact me ian@ianrogers.net if you know of a bigger one-day event, or if you’re certain this is the biggest - we’d love to hear from you.

The Teaching and DJ programme has been finalised - see the timetable for details.

7th October
After seeing Peter Phillips play a wicked set of smooth swing and Jive tunes at a recent event, the Jiveathon team just had to have him! Fortunately for us (and for you) he’s agreed - we’ll squeeze him in somewhere for an amazing set of hot tracks.

We’ve now bought 50 souvenir T-shirts for sale on the day - fitted T’s for the boys and very attractive vest tops for the girls.

Let me say that another way - we’ve bought only 50 T-shirts for the day! Be sure to get there early and snap them up!!! :-)

25th September
The Jiveathon is still getting bigger! Nigel and Nina have now joined the teaching team (that makes the whole of the Jump’n’Jive lineup) to bring you a Marathon Jive Memory Class within the freestyle dance marathon. Prizes will be available!

It is now also possible to show up and pay on the day. But the costs will be £20 all day pass, £10 evening session.

Compare this to £10 for the whole day advance ticket and you’d be crazy to miss the bargain. The advance ticket includes a sponsorship form. It would be much better for the charity if you bought the ticket in advance and raised £20 in sponsorship than just pay on the day. If that wasn’t
enough, if you raise more than £50 in sponsorship you can reclaim the ticket price and get 12 hours freestyle for free!!!

See the booking page for more details.

17th September
There will be a merchandise area in the main function room (the bar) by the main hall.

Stands include:
