Adam and Mandy Nathanson Adam is the founder of the CEROCMetro franchise and has nearly 1000 dancers in his many classes each week.
Mandy, among her many talents, choreographed the Aspects team Ceroc routine which won the 2001 National Ceroc championships
Amir Giles is a dancer/instructor from New Zealand who has recently returned to London from the Canary Islands, where he was dancing in a dance-theatre production touring the hotels there. He is an experienced instructor, having taught beginner to advanced classes for Ceroc Dance New Zealand, Graciela Tango Productions and Fusion Dance Works. In 1999 he won the Open Advanced Section in the Australasian Ceroc Champs, and went on to develop his classical ballet technique through intensive private training. For the last two years he has been developing the principals of Fusion by studying other dance forms such as the Tango, and has recently been accepted to the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance for full time training.
Andy & Rena first met when Rena landed on Andy while he was dancing with somebody else. This was their first aerial. They carried on doing aerials because Rena wanted to and Andy was scared of her. Since then they have added many more aerials to their repertoire, but Rena still enjoys doing their very first aerial and occasionally practises it at dances.
They have been teaching and performing as Jump ’n’ Jive for the past four years. During this time, their flamboyant style has brought them three national dance titles and lots of bruises. Their unlimited energy is most obvious in their daring aerials, though it comes across in every dance style they perform, be it jive, lindy hop, swing jive, jazz, charleston or sumo wrestling. Their major strength as far as teaching goes (apart from their total enthusiasm and enjoyment of dance) is that they are a real double act, so that leaders and followers get a full picture of every move. Twice UK Airsteps Champions, Andy & Rena have been passing on their specialist knowledge to would-be acrobatic dancers for over four years. Their clear teaching, infectious personalities and non-stop energy make them a favourite with all who know them.
Dan & Christi Guest each have a long background of dance experience: Dan has previously been a performing member of two UK Lindy Hop performance groups (Jitterbugs Jammers & Illinois Jackets). He first started teaching Lindy Hop in Brighton in 1995 and is General Manger and founding member of the Lindy Circle Performance Group. Christi has been dancing all her life and first learnt Lindy Hop in 1997 whilst living in San Francisco. She is Artistic Director and founding member of the Lindy Circle Performance Group and is currently studying for a Masters in Dance at the Laban School. Together they won the 1999 UK Lindy Hop championships.
Hev Mate - Queen of strolls and one of the founding members of This Rocks who organise the fanTAStic Rock Bottoms and Top Rocks weekenders
Nigel and Nina - Nigel & Nina began dancing together in August 1996, originally concentrating on Modern Jive before diversifying into a number of other dance styles. Their repertoire now includes Lindy Hop, Blues, Charleston, West Coast Swing, Boogie Woogie and Balboa. They now teach across the UK and abroad and have designed a number of specialist workshops to bring together many of the various swing styles and show how they can be used in the modern jive idiom.
In October 1997 their partnership proved truly formidable when they were successful in the UK Modern Jive Championships, winning both the Classic and Showcase sections.
They continued to compete and win in subsequent jive championships, though now they prefer to concentrate their efforts towards the hectic teaching schedule associated with being the UK's top teachers in advanced jive and blues.
